Military Writers Society of America (MWSA) is perhaps the largest writers group focused on helping service members and their families tell their stories and the preservation of history. They have several venues from monthly writing contests to their quarterly magazine to their annual anthology. "Each year MWSA publishes a book of articles, short stories, essays, illustrations, and photographs to showcase the amazing members of the Military Writers Society of America. In addition to member entries, the book contains the MWSA review and jacket design of each book nominated for an award in the current award cycle.
Members in good standing are encouraged to send original work, not to exceed 1200 words, in a text document along with a high resolution jpeg head shot photograph and a biography of 250 words. The theme this year is “Hope and Courage,” and entries should reflect that theme.
DEADLINE for submissions is Sunday, May 31, 2015. Send your entry to Betsy Beard at eabeard AT nc.rr.com. Don’t wait until the last minute. Start writing now! "
