Shooting the Pass: Video 2

"Air-Assault Rehearsal"
FORT IRWIN, Calif., Sept. 29--Soldiers of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment (1/133rd Inf.) rehearse boarding and egressing a helicopter during the second of a three-day Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise ("CALFEX") at the National Training Center.

This video is the second of four illustrating a series of blog-posts titled, "Shooting the Pass."

  1. I realize it is simplified for "practice" but I liked seeing how they really practice with "bumps" on landing and seat belt removal.

  2. You know, I'd noticed the "seatbelt" removal before, but had missed the landing "bump" until you mentioned it! Thanks for the tip!

I'm just amazed at how dedicated and creative these guys are. They practiced various tasks for hours prior to executing the real deal.
